It's a classic for a reason, but believe it or not, I only had my very first Rice Krispie Treat a couple of years ago. It was a complete game-changer! Since then, this sweet, sticky, and unbelievably easy treat has shot straight to the top of my must-try recipe list. Today, we're finally crossing it off!

Ingredients-

Bars:

cooking spray

1/2 cup light corn syrup

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup peanut butter

3 cups Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal

Topping:

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup butterscotch chips

Method-

Spray an 8 x 8-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Make the bars:

Combine corn syrup and sugar in 3-quart saucepan.

Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to boil.

Remove from the heat and stir in peanut butter until well combined.

Add rice cereal and stir until well coated.

Press mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Make the topping:

Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips in a 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly.

Spread evenly over cereal mixture.

Let stand until firm, about 20 minutes.

Cut into bars.
