Saturday Morning Baking!

Last night I was really tired from an extra stressful week at work.

I decided to not bake and just get in bed. 8:30 pm to be exact. I was just dozing off around 9 pm when, during a very stormy evening (remnants of Hurricane Nicole), we lost power.

The power was only out for about an hour, but if I had been baking it would have been a very stressful hour. Defeating the purpose of baking to relax.

So we have Saturday Morning Baking.

I had mixed the 18 Hour Whole Wheat Bread recipe from Jim Lahey, My Bread, before I left for work yesterday morning. Instead of the one loaf I made 2 small loaves.

The Cranberry Soda bread is a new recipe. It is from Souffle Bombay, which is a new site for me to follow. When I saw the recipe in my feed on Instagram the first think I thought of was the fresh cranberries I had seen at Bishops. They are grown one town over from us. Nice and local!

The recipe was super easy to make. I made 1/2 the recipe to test it out. It is a keeper!!

The cookie is also a new recipe for me. And again I made 1/2 the recipe. I did not have candy bars so I used dark chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Again, this recipe is a keeper!
