Once upon a time, lets just pick a year. 1981. In 1981 I was baking pies for 2 area restaurants. Every week I would invade my Mom's kitchen and bake pies. Apple, Blueberry, Coconut Custard and Blueberry Peach Pies. One day someone said, "Hey you can't bake pies from your Mom's kitchen and sell them. You have to have a commercial kitchen." Now lets just say that you could eat off the floors of my Mom's kitchen. And interestingly enough the person who told me this turned out to be the new supplier of baked goods to the restaurants. Did she bake in a commercial kitchen? No. Unfortunately this took place before I became the person I am now. I bowed and let them run with it.
.What does all this have to do with Friday Night Baking? Tonight I made Blueberry Peach Scones. It is the perfect summer combination. I use to make a Blueberry Peach Pie for the restaurants, It was a favorite pie of both restaurants. I found this recipe for scones by simply Googling Blueberry Peach Scones. Three Scoops of Sugar Lazy Saturday Blueberry Scones popped up. Click here for the original recipe. The glaze will be added in the morning.
Oh as a follow up the person who took the restaurant baking gig from me was politely asked by the state to stop baking from her kitchen. Karma. Always gets ya.
