How to Bake Your Own German Crumb Coffee Cake


Ingredients:


  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 egg

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions:


  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  • In a bowl, mix the flour and sugar together.

  • Melt the butter and add it to the flour mixture.

  • Stir in the milk, egg, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract.

  • Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.

  • Prepare the crumb topping separately by mixing flour, sugar, and butter until crumbly.

  • Sprinkle the crumb topping over the cake batter.

  • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
