Friday Night Baking In 3 Acts. Act 2 - The Chocolate Chip Cookie.

We have visitors coming to Connecticut next week. Our God Daughter Elenora and her dad, my nephew Nicholas. And we all know what that means. I have to make my Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.

This recipe never fails. You can switch out the additions. Any type of chip will work. You can add nuts if you want. Whatever you do,you will not be able to eat only one of these.

The Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Ingredients-

2 1/4 cup sifted flour 1 tsp salt 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 3/4 cup sugar 3/4 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp hot water 1 tsp baking soda 12 oz. chocolate chips 1 cup oatmeal 1 cup flaked coconut 1 cup Rice Krispies Method-

Sift flour and salt. Set it aside.

Blend butter and sugar and brown sugar.

Add eggs and vanilla.

Blend hot water and baking soda.

Add baking soda and flour to butter mixture.

Add all other ingredients except the Rice Krispies.

Stir in the Rice Krispies by hand, do not use the mixer (you don't want to over beat them). Roll them into a teaspoon size balls.

Place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

The baking time may vary depending on your oven.
