Apple Squares
Taking a shortcut tonight. Put in a 10+ hour day so baking was not on my to-do list for tonight. But I had to bake.

I mixed a batch of 18-hour Walnut Bread. More on that tomorrow.
I wanted to make something that my Mom always baked. Apple Squares. As a matter of fact, in high school public speaking class when it was time to do a presentation I presented this recipe, with illustrated cards, this was pre-PowerPoint days, and finished the presentation by uncovering a dish of these baked delights! Sister Ann was delighted and took the tray back to the convent!
I found a handwritten recipe in my Mom's recipes.

Of course, seeing as I only have to feed Chris and myself, I cut the recipe in 1/2.

Tasted just like my Mom's!
